Wedding Planning During Quarantine

So you’re planning a wedding and wondering what in the world you can do right now to keep up the progress -  here are a few things you can still be doing to wedding prep during the wild time we're in! I hope you’ll feel so accomplished when this is all over. If you don’t already have a Pinterest board with all your inspiration and ideas that would be the best place to start.

On to more specific ideas:

 1. Pick out gifts for your wedding party, your partner, your parents, vendors, anyone helping you. Etsy is a great place for this plus you're shopping small.  That was my go-to when I was buying gifts and wedding planning.

Some ideas for wedding party:

  • Robes or nightgowns or pjs for your girls

  • Flasks, ties, wild rags or shot glasses for the fellas

Ideas for your partner:

  • Anything personalized with the date- a guitar pick, wild rag, picture frame

  • I ordered Justin a gun safe - it’s always an option lol

  • If you had boudoir pictures done, an album of those photos

  • If they’re into sports - anything regarding the team

Ideas for parents:

  • Jewelry for the mommas

  • Picture frame for dad to put in his office

  • You could always write letters if you’re into that

  • I had a handkerchief embroidered for my mother in law + a bottle opener customized for my father in law

  • Gift cards or thank you cards are always a solid option for anyone helping you or for any of your vendors.

2. Work on building your reception playlist! Pick your first dance song + parent dance songs. Share that list with your DJ if you're hiring one.  Check out this blog post for first dance song ideas! Keep your running list in a word doc or in the notes app on your phone.

3. Pick out your guest book. Options are really endless with this one. Polaroids are always fun- if you’re doing Polaroids be sure to ask a few friends or family members to man the table to help take the pictures- , a framed picture with matte around it for your guests to sign. You could do an old cow skull and have them sign it with a sharpie then use a clear spray to set it. Etsy is a great place to find all kinds of options and again, you’re shopping small there!

4. You can pick out/order bridesmaid dresses, your shoes, groom + groomsmen shirts and/or jeans as well as start shopping for outfits for your parents. I love azazie.com for bridesmaid dresses. If you’re going to wear jewelry you could be shopping for that now as well.

5. Pick out your hairstyle + how you want your bridesmaids hair to look! If you haven’t picked a stylist or makeup artist- this would be an awesome time to do that, as well. Reach out to several to check their availability and prices to find what best fits your budget.

6. If you’ve had your engagement pictures taken - decide how you want to display those images at your wedding. Another guest book idea would be a photo book with plenty of white space for folks to sign. If you have your frames and know the sizes, order your prints! A great way to utilize your pictures is by putting them as center pieces on the tables or on the guest book and gift table. You can get $5 off an Mpix order here.

7. Speaking of center pieces - I mentioned Pinterest earlier - use that tool to help you decide how you want your tables to look. You can start ordering things to go on those tables once you decide how they need to look. Check Facebook Marketplace and resale sites to be balling on a budget.

8. You can work on building your family photo shot list. I ask for this from all of my couples so we don’t miss getting a photo with anyone. Think of all the possible combinations and share that list with your photographer.

9. Reach out to all of your vendors just to touch base. Ask questions if you have them. Now is the time to communicate any and all questions, comments or concerns. (We want to help you, promise!)

10. Most important - really try not to stress. This is an unprecedented time that we’re all trying to navigate. I just know if you’re anything like me you’d want to try to make the most of it and use your time wisely so I hope you found this a little bit helpful in crossing somethings off your to-do list!

Sending virtual hugs!! Wishing you the VERY best!! Happy planning.
