5 Tips for a Successful Senior Session

1. Wear clothes that fit your shape + that are flattering. Spend some time in your closet to decide what looks good AND what feels good. Your clothes shouldn’t be too loose or too baggy. The old saying goes ‘look good, feel good’ and that is so important when being vulnerable in front of the camera.

2. Make your session tailored to you + your interests. Don’t be afraid to embrace your hobbies. You can totally think outside the box here. Are you a reader? Bring your books! Are your into sports? Bring your gear! Are you an animal lover? GREAT! Bring all the critters. You do you, boo!

3. Only primp if you’re into that kinda thing. What I mean is that if you normally get your nails done or have them painted, do that. If that isn’t normal for you, don’t do it. If you like your hair natural, rock it that way. If you like to go and have someone do it for you, do that. Just don’t do anything special for pictures that you wouldn’t normally do.

4. I can’t say this is the MOST important tip of them all, but it’s pretty dang important. Please try not to be nervous! I know that’s easier said than done, BUT hear me out. I want you to be relaxed, have the most fun + embrace the experience. Taking pictures isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you give yourself the permission to take a deep breath and relax your body, you’ll see a world of difference in your photos!!

5. HAVE FUN!! Make it about you + this time that you’re in. Enjoy it, my friend.
